Celebrate the raw, geometric soul of the Kutch desert with 'Kala-Vriksh'—a defining masterpiece from our new heritage series. Handwoven by master weavers of the indigenous Vankar community in Bhujodi, Gujarat, this saree represents centuries of nomadic weaving traditions. It features a deeply grounded brick-red base adorned with meticulous, embroidery-like geometric bands, a striking plaid-checkered edge panel, and a beautifully crafted palla finished with vibrant, hand-knotted lime green, blue, and black tassels.
The saree comes with a running blouse piece (last picture).
Authentic Bhujodi weaving relies on a highly technical, labor-intensive extra-weft technique. Skilled artisans manually interlace supplementary cotton threads across the warp lines on traditional pit looms to create tactile, three-dimensional geometric motifs that resemble delicate hand embroidery.
